Why Cleanse?

Detox-slide-cleanse-pptFasting and cleansing to detox and purify the  body and mind are not new concepts. They were first embraced thousands of years ago as a pathway to connect with the divine and achieve higher levels of awareness and clarity. It’s more relevant than ever today.

I created a 7-Day  Retreat which includes juice fasting, colon cleansing and gourmet living raw food, to awaken the spirit as much as the body and mind. It’s a retreat that’s designed to pull you out of your daily routine, so that you can examine what you’re consuming – and what’s consuming you – whether it’s the food you eat, the lifestyle you choose or the environment you’re living in. It will give you a quick tune-up as well as an opportunity to recalibrate and realign with your internal guidance system.

So much of the food we choose to eat fogs our life force and weighs down the body in dis-ease. The effects are making headlines every day. Rates of heart disease, diabetes and cancer are on the rise, prescriptions for medications to treat depression and anxiety are at record levels, increasing numbers of adults are overweight, the rate of autoimmune disease is growing, chronic fatigue syndrome is a new epidemic – and  the list goes on and on.

Fortunately, we can set ourselves free from low energy, stress, illness, obesity, addiction, depression and a host of other physical, emotional or spiritual ailments we might be facing. The path back to wellness is simple – we just need to take a step out of our usual routine to reassess and understand how food and lifestyle choices are shaping our health.

For most of my adult life, I have been exploring the healing power of food, juice fasting and healing. When I first discovered yoga at 13, I adopted a different way of eating from my family and started weekly fasting. Along the way I have cleansed, studied, cooked, sweat, prayed and meditated with holistic healers. There is no “one answer” to naturally healing the body and there isn’t one right way. Staying in balance and being healthy is an evolution, and we can each start where we are.
Doing a cleanse is a great first step.

Participating in a 7-Day Detox Retreat, which includes 4 days juice fasting and 3 days gourmet raw living foods with a small group of friendly like-minded people is a great first step. Making the most of your cleanse by doing detox yoga, taking infrared saunas, relaxing in the spa, walking by the lake and focusing on your being will have a positive impact on how you feel – And everything in life is better when your body feels good.

We have the answer to staying clear, light and awake. So my question to you is:
How can we not take time out to do a cleanse?
